How does it work?

Sunlight is converted into electricity using photovoltaic solar panels which powers the pump through a controller.  The pump only works during daylight hours, as there are no batteries in a solar pumping system.  Sensors can be installed to tell the pump to switch off when the tank is full, and also to protect the pump if the water level in the bore or dam gets too low.  The pump starts automatically when the sunlight produces enough power to run it and shuts off automatically when the sun sets.

Systems are designed specifically to suit your purpose.  We can install them for you, or as they come in a meccano style set-up with full instructions, you can save costs on your system by installing it yourself.

 What we need to know to quote a system for you. . . .

2. Is your water source a bore, well, dam, river or other?
3. Temperature of water to be pumped? (very important)
4. Month of peak demand?
5. Daily minimum water volume required?
6. Total depth of bore or well?
7. Diameter of bore casing?
8. Pump setting in bore or well (including possible draw-down)?
9. Vertical height from surface (ground level) to tank inlet?
10. Horizontal distance from surface of water source to water tank?
11. Size and class of pipe (required to calculate friction losses?
12. Length of motor cable required (pump to controller)
13. Any remote switches required: On/off for "low water level in bore", On/off for "tank full", any others?
